Based in Japan, A Hundred Birds are a 15 piece live group led my producer and conductor Yoku. Every Christmas Eve in Tokyo, Yoku expands A Hundred Birds to a 40 piece orchestra and adds additional live vocalists. Orchestra meets dance, nice.
Octave One formed in the late 80’s in America and have predominantly produced techno music. Their original version of Blackwater was released in 2000 on 430 West Records with the vocal talents of Ann Sanderson. Interestingly Octave One remixed the track two years later also with an orchestra names the Urban Soul Orchestra who you might recognise for their work with Groove Armada and Nitin Sawhney.
