Her Divine Frequency. Matt plays Gospel Grooves at Vinyl Gathering

After Rum Punch Crew’s upbeat dub warm-up listen back here, I took the 9pm slot at The Three Horseshoes. It was a Carnivalism double bill, with Dom closing out the evening (mix incoming).

Her Divine Frequency was my righteous dip into gospel-fuelled house and soul-soaked stompers from the 90s and early 2000s. Sanctified vocals, basslines to bless your feet, and hi-hats straight out of heaven’s green room. It was great digging through my vocal house section brought back all sorts of memories. That Juliet Roberts 12” has been with me since the early days, when my record collection first started turning into a DJ’s record bag. I think I even bought it in Woolworths (back when that was still a thing).

Blessed vibes from some of the best female pipes in the business, and sweaty smiles all round.

Thanks to Si & Jo, for putting on a quality gathering.
