If you haven’t crossed paths with the Global Funk Fam yet, here’s the intro. GFF is a global online DJ community built around Twitch, connecting artists from all over the world through live music, shared broadcasts, and proper community spirit. They’re kindred spirits of ours, and you can find everything they’re up to at gff.dj.
One of the things they do brilliantly is bring online and real-world events together. Which brings us to Shindig.
Shindig Festival runs 21–24 May 2026 over the Bank Holiday weekend in Wiltshire. Independent, curated, community-led dance music in all shapes and sizes with a distinct West Country character. Not a mega-festival.
This is the third year of the collaboration between Shindig and the GFF, and this year the GFF Live Lounge has moved into the main arena, with all four days live streamed. Full details over on their site by clicking here.
I’ve been invited for the Sunday Showcase Slot 15:30 to 16:30 – playing alongside Kris Doss. More on that closer to the time.
In the meantime, last Sunday (26 April) the GFF ran their Countdown to Shindig broadcast, a full afternoon on Twitch from 3pm. I took the 6–7pm slot before handing over to Mr. Ours a D&B and bass music producer with a serious following and good reason for it.
The MoonJoy Mix
This one was a lot of fun to make. Woven through the set are soundbites from the Artemis lunar mission, which is where the name came from. MoonJoy felt right.
It opens with something I made exclusively for the show: a mashup called Monie’s Milkshake. From there it’s a run through hip hop, funk, disco, house and breaks, with live edits along the way, acapellas dropped over tracks, nothing too precious, just good fun. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.
