Louis Mars took over at 5pm with one of the most distinctive sets of Saturday. Starting with the salsa of Guayacán Orquesta and Frankie Ruíz, he quickly opened things out through cumbia, Latin and Brazilian rhythms, with M.I.A., Sabo & Cassady, Deize Tigrona, Proyecto Uno and Airto Moreira all finding their way into the hour.

That Latin American influence gives the recording its character, but it never stays neatly in one place. The Rolling Stones’ “Miss You” appears alongside Khaled Al Reigh, Nigerian artist Kayode and Brazilian baile funk, while M.I.A. crops up twice. It’s the sort of genre-hopping that makes perfect sense once you stop worrying about the genre labels and start dancing.
